Ok I know I am making excuses but Declan's birthday was right on the heels of Dan's wedding so we just did something very low key and promised ourselves we would go all out for the big five year.
This is Declan on his first birthday...
And now...He has grown up so fast. I know that sounds lame but my parents were right they grow up fast. Learning about density from the pretty lady... Making the different types of tornado's... Sending smoke signals... Dino Dig... Steve's mini me... Declan was so excited about the helmet he thought it was for pretend play. He had no idea it was a bike helmet... Batman cupcakes... Big thanks to Grandma and Paka for making his day special.
Who are the kids focusing their water gun blasts on...
Oh...Uncle Ben Paka stepping in to rescue Adalae... Ben's police training in action... Aunt Karen stopped by to say hi and meet Lochlan for the first time... The grill master himself enjoying a cold one from our on tap beer. Thanks for all your help this week Aaron it was great to spend time with you. Dan's boys the day of the now infamous bachelor party... Goodale good times... Lochlan with Grandma Bee and Aunt Liz Joella and Mac were inseparable. I know what you are thinking is Joella holding a rifle? Chillax...she is from Alaska all the kids have guns there ;).
While we were in Washington we went down to the water at low tide to let the kids get up close with some sea life. Declan was crying because he was scarred the little crabies would pinch him (that is what I get for warning him not to touch them because they pinch). He got over it..
Mac pointing out a crab. Can you spot it in the next picture? Joella and Uncle Randy enjoying the scene... What is Uncle Ben showing all the kiddos...?
My boys... Miss Audrey was having a blast; that girl has no fear :)
There was this great park at the beach complete with bridge and creek... Kathy Jones the master mind behind the weeks events... Uncle Don and Aunt Stacy get the award for biggest help on this vacation. Thanks for all your hard work putting together meals with my mom. Miss you already.
For Dan and Sara's week long wedding extravaganza my parents rented The Bend. It was amazing. I didn't get any shots of the front(which was impressive) but the views from the back are what we really loved. The first one is a shot of the indoor hot tub.
This is what it looks like when the tide is all the way out... and yes that is a bald eagle.
